Current groups Wellbeing – an 8 week programme encompassing various activities to improve confidence followed by a similar programme for self esteem. Individuals will do a combination of group and individual exercises to achieve their identified goals. Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) Created by people with mental health challenges in America to support mental health recovery. It is a simple self help system based on improving self care and strengthening support. It increases an individual’s understanding and control and decreases chances of relapse and feelings of powerlessness. Through an 8 week workshop which involves sharing experiences, development of individualised wellness tools and a plan of when and how to use them, you will gain awareness of the basic recovery principles and gain a greater understanding of self, and how to maintain your wellness. Wrap is delivered in an 8 week workshop within a groups of up to 6 people. Hearing Voices The hearing voices acceptance group is made up by a number of people who share their experiences of hearing voices, coming together to help and support each other whilst exchanging information and learning from each other. The aim of the group is to assist people to cope and to decide for themselves what helps or not. Hearing Voices group contains a maximum of 10 people. Fishing – weekly session during the season to develop basic fishing skills whilst promoting inclusion and acess to outdoor enviroment. Digital Cameras – teaches people to become independent with basic photography and computing skills through step by step instructions. The course includes operating a camera, developing knowledge and skills using computer software, designing collages, calenders and cards and scanning and uploading images onto the computer. Badminton – The group runs for one hour weekly using gentle exercise as a soical and stimulating activity. Walking – weekly walks agreed by group with various lengths and difficulty. This is an informal group encouraging healthy exercise and social inclusion. Women’s Group – a group which develops coping skills through introducing a range of therapeutic activities such as: colour therapy, food and mood relaxation. Men’s Group – an opportunity for men all ages, to meet and discuss issues, around male health and life styles in an informal but structured group setting. The group covers promotion of healthy life styles and physical and emotional well being. Training Kitchen – individualised sessions to enable service users to develop practical and relevant skills relating to their home and how to maintain a healthy diet. Ultrasis Beating The Blues - is a computer interactive programme for the treatment of anxiety and depression. It is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps individuals indentify and change unhelpful ways of thinking and learn more effective ways of solving problems. Individual Tailored Support Support on an individual basis to meet identified needs where appropriate. This may include preparation for group work, accessing transport, seeking employment or training and accessing correct benifits.
