The Association Office (AO), headed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has the responsibility for all areas of Finance and HR, as well as supporting the Board members in carrying out their individual roles. It's main objective is to ensure the Charity has adequate resources in order to function effectively and deliver a quality service. We also have a responsibility for the production and submission of legal/statutory declarations to Companies House, the Charity Commission and other Government agencies together with the production of the annual accounts. In addition, we maintain and manage the accommodation rental portfolio and act as managing agents to our housing association partners and statutory funders such as Supporting People (SP). In providing support to the Board of Trustees we administer the Annual General Meeting, held in September. The office also acts as a central focal point for all our partners, both internally and externally. Although a Charity, we are a Limited Company by Guarantee and, as with all voluntary sector organisations, we commercially operate in a very competitive market place when bidding for funding and negotiating high value contracts. These functions are critical to the success and security of the charities long term future position. Finally, the AO is also responsible for effective regulation, formulation, promulgation and monitoring of all Human Resources Policy and practise. This includes the recruitment of all staff, across departments, as well as legal compliance. We also maintain our “Quality Assurance” in line with National Mind guidelines (QMiM), as well as being SP accredited. |

NEED - It is a shocking fact that 1 in 4 people will be affected by mental illness during their lifetime. Even if it is mild to moderate it can ruin lives. Stress, anxiety and depression are not new, but modern life is faster and more competitive than in days gone by. Inevitably there are casualties. Lancashire also has special problems including some of the most deprived areas in the UK, the highest prescription rates for antidepressants (in Blackpool) and the County is disproportionately affected by redundancies - and the fear of redundancies - due to the economic downturn. It also affects living standards - bringing money worries to many. As a result more and more people are adversely affected by stressful life situations. |
