Open Mind Day Services is a community based day service supporting people of working age with mental health problems, particularly those with severe mental health problems and those who are subject to the Care Programme Approach.
The aim of the service is to promote independence and social integration through the provision of a day service focussed on helping people re-establish themselves in the community through a variety of means including access to recreational, occupational and therapeutic activities both within the day centre and the local community.
The service operates an agency referral system with service users subject to a 4-week assessment and care plan undertaken by their key worker. All new referrals to the service are invited to attend an Intake meeting with their Care Co-ordinator to assess suitability.
The service provides additional support through the Support Time and Recovery service and carer support.
The service is funded by Lancashire County Council Adult and Community Services and provides services 6 days per week 52 weeks of the year.
The staff team comprise of a Mental Health Manager, Deputy Manager, three support workers, Support Time and Recovery Worker primarily offering Outreach support, part time secretary, part time weekday and part time domestic. Volunteers assist the paid staff in the day to day running of the centre.

Self Harm Group
The group is held fortnightly on Tuesday afternoon’s from 1-3 pm at St Lawrence’s Parish Rooms, Union Street, Chorley. For further information please view the following documents.
