The Association office (AO), headed by the General Manager (GM), has the responsibility for all areas of Finance and HR as well as supporting the Executive Committee members in carrying out their individual roles. Its main objective is to ensure the Charity has adequate resources in order to function effectively and deliver a quality service. We also have a responsibility for the production and submission of legal/statutory declarations to Companies House, the Charity Commission and other Government agencies together with the production of annual accounts.

In addition, we maintain and manage the accommodation rental portfolio and act as managing agents to our housing association partners and statutory funders such as Supporting People (SP).  In providing support to the Executive Committee we administer the Annual General Meeting held annually in September. The office also acts as a central focal point for all our partners, both internally and externally.

Although a Charity, we are a Limited Company by Guarantee and, as with all voluntary sector organisations, we commercially operate in a very competitive market place when bidding for funding and negotiating high value contracts. These functions are critical to the success and security of the charities long term future position. 

Finally, the AO office is also responsible for effective regulation, formulation, promulgation and monitoring of all Human Resources Policy and practise. This includes the recruitment of all staff across departments as well as legal compliance. We also maintain our “Quality Assurance” in line with National Mind guidelines and as well as being SP accredited, we have recently registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
