Lancashire Mind Ltd is an independent local charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee. The organisation was inaugurated in 1986 and affiliated to National Mind as a Local Mind Association. The organisation is governed by a Board of Trustees, which is comprised of people with an interest in Mental Health issues and a number of service users who have full voting rights on the Board. In addition to the Association Office (AO), we provide a range of day services, supported housing, floating support and health & wellbeing activities to local people suffering from a range of mental health needs. All our services are designed to be outcome focused, aimed at promoting independence, confidence and self esteem.

SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT WORKERS – BLACKPOOL AREA, REF: SCSW
Salary Scale: LGE Scale 18 £17,161 Pro rata Hrs: Part Time 16hrs X 2  Fixed Term 12 months dependant on funding


We are recruiting staff to fill two Support Worker posts due to expansion of our services in the Blackpool. Applicants must have good IT skills, attention to detail, team working ability and good communication skills. At least 12 months experience of working with people with Mental Health problems, ideally in a community based projects would be an advantage. Applicants must hold NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or suitably equivalent qualification, and must have a full, clean driving license and own transport.

TEAM LEADER POST – BLACKPOOL AREA, REF: SCTL
Salary Scale: LGE Scale 21 £19126 Pro rata Hrs: Part Time 25hrs Fixed Term Contracts 12 months depending on funding


A Team Leader is required for our growing Mental Health charity services in the Blackpool & Fylde & Wyre area. The roles involve managing a team concentrating mainly on the Service Development and engaging with Partner Agents in the local area. We require a strong individual who can drive the team, with proven experience at supervisory level. Must have good IT skills, attention to detail, excellent organisation and communication skills, be highly motivated and have experience of working with young and old people with Mental Health problems. Ideally this post would suit anyone with an NVQ 3 or above in Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification, experienced in delivering training and a good knowledge within the area is essential.

These posts are subject to satisfactory references and enhanced CRB clearance. Likely interview dates are week commencing 6th February 2012. All posts include company pension, sick pay and life cover schemes after qualifying period.

"Lancashire Mind has a new Chairman. Andrew Harris was elected to the role on the 14th December 2011 after being Vice Chair with a brief to drive our agenda for change resulting in the creation of Lancashire Mind and a range of service and staffing developments.

Andrew is a chartered surveyor and has been a CEO in the public, private and third sectors. In recent years he has chaired companies and charities operating in the UK and Africa.
